Artists Peter Walls and Allegra Kuhn generously offered toreinstall the “jewelry for the trees” at Stover Preserve in Belfast from their 2023 Art Gond Wild installationas a fundraiser for future Art Gone Wild Residencies!
“Creating this “jewelry” for the trees focuses publicattention on how special these preserved lands, flora, and fauna are. Wehope that the pendents let you experience the forest differently, see itsmagic, and celebrate it for how special and beautiful it is—whether this isyour first time seeing the pendants or you had a chance to see them last year!”
You can view the pendants along the trails of StoverPreserve from June 25th-July 14th! An open house with theartists, Waterfall Arts, and Coastal Mountains staff will be held on Sunday,July 7th. No registrationis necessary! Bring a friend and enjoy the art as you explore the trails!
The pendants will be offered for sale and can be picked upafter the 3-week adorning (weather dependent) is complete. The pendants havebeen created to withstand living outdoors permanently, possibly mounted on a 4”x 4” post in one’s personal forest or yard. They are also wonderfulpieces to bring indoors and hang on the walls in your favorite sacred interiorspace.
Each pendant will be offered at $650 each with 50% of thesale going to fund future “Art Gone Wild” residencies. For an additional feethe Artists will work with you to hang your work in your desired location (thisdoes not include any extra materials needed for installation).
Peter Wallsand Allegra Kuhn are Artists livingand working in MidCoast Maine. Peter is known for his shaped-panel mural workthroughout New England and Allegra for her colorful and joyous abstractpaintings. They both find inspiration in the Maine landscape, the creatureswhich inhabit it, and how humans interact with their surroundings here. Theartists are also installing pendants on the PenBay Community Wellness Trail on the campus of Pen Bay Medical Center inRockport on June 10.
